Small Hands

Hello there! I have never owned a smart phone before, but am interested in getting one and have read many positive things about the Droid X.

My only concern is the size of the thing. It looks awesome, but I have small hands. I guess "small hands" is kind of a relative thing. I am a 5'4" woman if that helps any in figuring the size of my hands.

Anyone with small hands have this phone? How is it? Is the size not really an issue? Is it awkward holding it up to your face to make phone calls?

Thanks for any help! :)

and a real response to your thread...so far from what I've read people with small hands no absolutely no issues. I myself have pretty large hands so I can only speculate...either way this phone is b!tchin'.

I don't think it's an issue for me at all. Just took a little bit to get used to but no problem for me. Definitely not awkward holding it for phone calls. I'd recommend going in to a VZW store and playing around with one or taking one for a 'test drive'.

BTW, the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread title was...

Sorry.

EDIT: LOL, llasch beat me to it!

I don't think the size of the phone is an issue, I am a guy 5'5" so I don't have big hands. Talking on the phone I actually think it is more comfortable than a micro sized phone and when you browse the net or play a video you will see the size is deffinately worth it.

Yeah, when all I was hearing before the release was "OMFG, this phone is SOOOOO BIG!!!" I was a little worried at first but when I got it, it was just fine.

I am a woman that is also 5'4" and this phone is the perfect size in my opinion. I think it is comfortable to hold up to the ear as well. Tonight after I get my midgets to sleep I will snap a pic for you. Basically because the phone is relatively narrow it is easy to hold.

Thanks for the input, guys and gals :-)

katrina2475, I would really appreciate a photo, thank you! The pictures I have seen of these things have all been with big man hands so that would be great.

My hands may be small, but I am not "tiny-handed" :-D

I'm 5' 6" with fairly long fingers for a woman. Very easy device to hold, etc. I love playing my card games on it at night before I go to sleep.
I had thought I might like a tablet when they came out with one with Android..but now, I'm not sure, with the X, it might just not be all that much of a difference.

Here are some pics I took of me holding the X. Like I said, I am 5'4" as well. I also snapped a couple of my Curve for reference. (disregard the smudges as she has been locked in a drawer since X came to town).

Thanks! That helps a lot, especially with the Blackberry comparison!

Also, I like the wallpaper on your phone. So much nicer than the creepy red eye I have seen in all the other pictures.

No problem! Like others, I was kinda scared to get the X after hearing all of these reviews talk about how HUGE it was. I almost got the Incredible instead because of it but I'm so glad I didn't. Now I can't imagine using anything smaller.

Oh and the background was from an app that has like 10,000 backgrounds or something like that. I love it. I change it everyday.

I have small hands also and tried the evo it was bulky and wide for me.this phone feels much better not as good as my incredible but close. the bigger screen and keyboard are worth it this phone is awesome.

I agree. My brother has the Evo and it's really awkward for me to hold.

Yea, it's only a little more than a 1/2" bigger screen than the Dinc. Hell, after I got my X, I was thinking about the Dell Streak lol.

I also have small hands and I totally love this phone! I had a blackberry storm that was smaller but also heavier. I don't know how I ever got along without a droid.
