Small update coming 8/22 (Rolling out now)

As TraderGary noted a few posts up, we have to "enable" the new behavior for the Recent Apps button:
Settings -> Display, gestures, buttons -> Recent apps button

There are three options - basically leave as is, make it act like a menu button with long-press for recent apps, and a recent apps button with long-press for menu. I picked the second one and the EVO Pac-Man ate my three dots.

I missed that post. Thanks for taking the time to point it out again. :D

Ok so what are options now that the dots are gone? Sorry this is a new layout to me.

I must admit I do see a major improvement as far as my connectivity issues, and my 3g speeds.
Yeah there still horrible but better then they've been lol!

Changes posted by Sprint.

Sprint Community: HTC EVO 4G LTE: HTC 4G LTE Software Updates

The only changes they list are the ones I detailed in the original post, but this isn't the first time more has changed than what is in Sprints change log.

Yep, that log is pretty much useless. Case in point- they added the ability to have a menu button and get rid of that horrible "menu button bar" (a MAJOR enhancement). Not listed. Tabs button on browser. Not listed. Nothing about wifi, Sense size or free mem, multitasking (if that is even affected), etc.

My multitasking is working! Testing with many apps open successful so far!

I am not going to declare it "fixed" yet without a lot more testing. But I *was* able to start app updates in Google Play and immediately switch to text messages and then turn off the phone (standby) and IT COMPLETED THE UPDATES. Something it *never* was able to do before.

Hmm...

When you write about the settings in the notification pull down, are you referring to the top right of the pull down with the "gear" that says settings under it?

That's what I was wondering. I already have that.

I think some people never noticed, but it is nothing new.

One thing I noticed is the calculator (stock) no longer vibrates as long as vibration for capacitive buttons is turned off. That used to drive me nuts :D

The Quick Settings menu is different. Pic I saw looked like toggles, similar to some of the HTC "utility" widgets, only in a pulldown menu form. The bottom of the pull-down "shade" had two tabs, one labeled Notifications, the other Settings. If it's part of this update, it's hidden or inaccessible.

It was strictly for pulling up recent apps in the beginning, but then the uproar about no physical menu button. So HTC gave us the option of changing the behavior of the button. Go to settings and buttons and see which behavior you like best.

Sorry, that is a mistake and it was already there. I removed it from that post. Thanks

I've noticed that with the stock music player, the only options I have for sound enhancements are Beats On and Beats Off. Previously I remember there were several EQ options and 3 different Beats Audio settings as well?

I've only had beats on/off

Didn't have EQ options or 3 different audio settings

Yeah, I was excited when I read his post about that. I've seen this quick settings in different roms I've seen in vids.

It had so much ranges of pre set equalizers. I'm sadden by the changes they took out of it since I use it for my car a lot! On/Off doesn't really help much. :'(

Personal ringtones for contacts are gone. Will only ring the default ringer. :banghead:

I still have my personalized ring tones for specific contacts in fact I have been wondering how to go back to default once I have changed it
