Smart key error

Having received the phone a few days ago most everything seems fine after completing a factory reset.

This is my first attempt to set the honor 7 smart key up.

Selecting:
settings / Smart assistance / Smart key

results in the following message:
Smart key error
This app does not have the necessary permissions needed to run. Please check your permission settings.

I've looked around but can't find where to do this - short of a factory reset any advice would be appreciated.

Try going to your app manager and select that app and try to give it all permissions that it is requesting

In settings / Apps there does not seem to be any app with a name that is obviously related to the Smart key.

However, on the basis the message is related to a Huawei app, I selected:
Huawei Mobile Services (which had Permissions listed as "No permissions granted") & enabled all permissions - result for the smart key = no difference.
