.. Because he GPS on my phone isn't accurate. All day at work and sometimes at home I have to unlock my phone because thinks I'm next door or in the parking lot.

How can I fix this?

It's on high accuracy.

I feel like this is always a problem for me. Even on old phones trying to use for directions it would get all messed up.

when you add secure location, you'll see your address there in the smart lock places - click on it, and there will be an option to activate that address.

I have 3 GPS coordinates for my office and when I open maps the blue dot is I the parking lot across the street.

when you are at work, do it - you'll see coordinates and address of your job . select it, rename if you want, and there'll be a circle around the location (80 feet in my case) and it works- for me at least
Also, in Google maps add your home and work address - your settings that is, then home shows up in smart lock.

This is the correct way to get smart lock to work

This is the only thing on my note8 I can not get to work. And it is starting to get on my nerves. Would love to have stayed set to use fingerprints while I'm out of the house and unlocked while at home. But I have to keep switching from fingerprints then to swipe. I did what poster below said. Nothing. Grrr. Rant over.

Lmao as you can see I posted a rant post below cause of the dang smart lock lol. Apparently I didn't read your post right. Read it again and I got it working. Only problem now is, it's not my address showing as my location. It's showing a house down the street that is for sale lmao. My street address is only a year and a half old and I'm in the country. But I figured my location be updated by now with Google. But guess not lol. But anyway thanks.

Edit: well thought it was good to go. It works one minute then next time I go to swipe it tells me to use fingerprints or pin. Have to reopen stupid Google maps app to get it work again til it fails again. Smh.

try deleting your home address from maps, restart the phone just in case and re-add your address. If Google maps doesn't have your home address as it's new, locate the house itself on the map . It'll give you exact coordinates - just rename as home and save. See if that works. Then of course find it in smart lock and activate

I've done all the things.

If I open Google maps it will sort of self calibrate and get slightly better but it's just not picking up my location accurately enough for smartlock to work properly.

after deleting your existing address, open maps and zoom in on your house, adjust the center of location to be right over your house. See picture, I just tried to add a new location where I'm right now - move the circle to be dead center over your home

You're inside a building, location services may or may not be as accurate as you want. Instead just use the WiFi option or better yet get a Gear S3 and use the Bluetooth option. Works flawlessly.

Thanks. I will try this when I wake up:)
