Smart Lock engages when in trusted places and with trusted devices.

My phone keeps locking itself after periods of not being used. This is despite being in a trusted place and connected to a trusted device. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I've found Smart Lock to be pretty inconsistent on my Pixel 3 XL. Not sure if there's any way to make it work better. One thing to try is to set your Trusted Place using the map function, and locating yourself physically on the map (rather than inputting an address). But I did this, and it still doesn't stay unlocked at home.:-\

Yeah, I just sent Google feedback about this. I think I've sent it to them before, but it doesn't hurt to keep reminding them.

On my S10e, I find that Trusted Places works about 40% of the time. Face Unlock works most of the time. Fingerprints never work for me, but that is because of a skin disorder. Mostly, I rely on my PIN.

You were right; Face Unlock is somewhat more reliable than Trusted Places. I did discover it doesn't work if you're wearing sun glasses.
