Why Does My Pixel 7 Pro Not Stay Unlocked For Four Hours?

In fact, while four hours, even in the US, are 240 minutes, my phone seems to use a different time scale, often locking after, say, 60 minutes. That oddity takes place when I have been in the house for time spans much longer than one hour, the house being a safe place in the lock settings.

Safety of the house itself is well set up, my being a now twice-retired fire chief....

You're talking about Extend Unlock, right? Extend Unlock for Trusted Places has never worked very reliably. You can try selecting the actual GPS coordinates of your house, rather than the "Home" entry, but that doesn't always work either.

Yes, Extend Unlock is enabled,

Until recently, as far as I know, it always worked. I have to state it that way, as there have surely been times when I have not looked at the phone for over four hours. (Please don't reveal that secret.)

I believe the setting on my phone is GPS; I will check that later.

Extended Lock says the location is from Google Maps. Phone Location is on.

Is there something I need to do to improve the location of our house using GPS?

I like to claim that we live at 7000', which is only very small discrepancy as the house floor is two small steps lower than that setting.

How I determined the setting: The US Topo Map for our domicile has a 7000' contour line that runs through the garage, two small steps above the house floor!

The elevation of our previous residence is 8,865' MSL, where I commanded emergency calls (fire and EMS) at approximately 9,375' MSL, at the base of the ski area, which is not the highest elevation to which we responded.

As mentioned before, this has long been a problem -- there are many threads in various communities about how poorly Trusted Places works. Apart from adding additional locations that are in or around your house, there hasn't been an ideal solution.

I managed to find some supposedly things to do to mitigate the problem, but they did nothing for me. For that matter, considering the obscurity of those postings, that they did not help me was no surprise.

So far, the only thing that has surprised me is why, after so many years of always working, the Extended Lock no longer extends.

I have looked, but I cannot find my key to wind up the Extended Lock's clock....
