Anyone here using the Smart Lock by location feature to keep their phone unlocked at home/work, etc ?
Just got my Pixel 2 a couple days ago... After doing some searches it appears that it's kind of inconsistent.

Thanks for any feedback.

I just turned it on and used my house address for a trusted place. At first it kept still requiring my fingerprint but it finally stopped asking me. I'll be testing it over the next few days to see if it keeps it unlocked here and locked when I go to work or elsewhere. I haven't tried the facial stuff yet.

I use it at home. No issues so far.. but I don't have WiFi on untill I am home and once I do that it always pings location so it sees me here.

I've been using it for a few years and never had an issue. I've been using it on my pixel 2 XL from day one and it's been Rock Solid.

But, honestly now, how many times have you tried to open your phone by simply swiping up while far from a trusted location?

As I detailed in my linked post above, I was 5,000 miles from home for the better part of a week only to find that my Pixel XL wasn't locking as it should have been. And, no, that is not the only example I have of this failure; it is just the one that I chose to write about.

Do you use any other things in the trusted lock settings? I use my Bluetooth headphones, my fitness tracker, car Bluetooth. Mine definitely works. Sometimes at work I'll leave my phone on my desk and walk to the back of the warehouse to receive a shipment, and when I get back and swipe up on the screen it's locked because my fitness tracker went out of range. Make sure your not using anything else in those settings.

As my earlier post explained, I had *only* Trusted Places - Home enabled in SmartLock along with "Power button instantly locks". No Trusted Devices.

Trusted Places has always been unreliable on every device I have owned (all Nexus/Pixel devices since Nexus 4) since Google added Smart Lock functionality. If you value your device security, I would not rely on Trusted Places.
