News Smart rings will stay niche until they add these missing features

You missed the obvious one. A lot of the fitness rings simply don't come in sizes that will fit a lot of women's smaller finger sizes.

Just like watches before them, women tend to be an afterthought in these markets.
 
The "killer app" for these rings should really be authentication for websites/apps using OTP or passkeys (FIDO U2F). Current options require a hardware key (e.g Yubico) but people don't usually have their keychain on them when using mobile devices at home. The Maclear "Omni" ring sells to be the closest to achieving this but it's not clear if it actually works...

Check out "Muse Ring One" They haven't started shipping yet, but it supposedly will have pretty much all of these things
