I have a few smartswitch backups on both SD card and also my PC. But for some reason The Note 20U one is greyed out and won't allow me to restore from it. However, it does allow one from way back on my S10+, is there any reason for this? thanks.
I should note that I so far tried to restore to the S21U and haven't yet tried on the N20U since that is being delivered next week.
When I manually browse to the smart switch backups they all appear intact, some around 3-4GB in size.

Unless that one is grayed out is corrupt or got canceled half way ?
Could it possibly be that some backups ( all are snapdragon BTW ) are not compatible to restore to certain models? I will find out for sure when I get my N20U next week, if its still greyed out or not. Its a bummer because I intentionally backup using SmartSwitch twice, one on my windows PC and another using the device in hand onto the SD card. They all seem to be successful in completing and until recently never had issues restoring any old backups. Initially I thought perhaps it had something to do with Android version. But the S10+ backup is as old as when the device was released and it worked.

Also, I have old backups that I have successfully used to restore from in the past which are now greyed out.

You mean its grayed out in smart switch on pc ?

Yes, On the PC when it shows the old Note 20U backup ( as with other backups)but its greyed out and not selectable. Some of the backups were used successfully before to restore to my Samsung devices but now they are greyed out. Almost as if its being prevented .

Do you have it set to encrypt the greyed out one?

I don't remember to be honest, if I had set it to encrypt would it not prompt me for credentials at least? I think the only time I used encryption was when backing up IOS devices which was required since certain items wouldn't backup otherwise.
