Smart Switch Help

Hey Gurus. Just got my new S22U in the mail - coming from Note 10+ which I loved. I've never manually done a transfer myself, always had the store reps set it up. So, what's the best way to do Smart Switch? I'm going to cable phone to phone. At what point do I do it? Do I activate the new phone first or wait until after the transfer? What phone needs the SIM? Just trying to sort this all out so I can get it up and running. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure now Smart Switch tells you to switch the SIM first. I don't always follow my own advice, but Smart Switch walks you through it, so I'd say just follow the prompts if you've never done it yourself before. I also think now Samsung recommends doing it wirelessly.

Hey thanks. I watched a couple of YouTube videos and I set it up with basically no issues. It was just time consuming, but darn near fool proof. The key was switching the SIM in first. That put the phone into a mode where it recognized that you probably wanted to automatically import data from another device while you are going through the initial setup.
