Any users of the Smart View cover ?

Even with the Always On display, the screen is always black when the cover is closed, apart from a few seconds after the cover closes.

How do I enable AOD with closed cover ?

That's the way smart covers work.
The cover isn't a screen, it still uses the phone. And because it's limited to one place it has to go off otherwise you'll get screen burn in.
The normal always on displays switches around the screen for this reason but that can't happen with smart covers.
This is just a smart cover thing, it's not limited to huawei

It only fires up if you press power or there's information needing to be displayed otherwise it stays black. They all work this way. It wouldn't make sense for it to be on 24)7 or you'll get intense batt drain.make sense,!?
