Smartswitch not notifying me of update but rather telling me Android 5.1.1 is up to date in 2019.

Thank you fr posting this, but it is not notifying me of any update and I am sure it is very well connected to the Internet because I did other things online with the connection. I use a Samsung S6 and it has an Android 5.1 wbut the battery life is not strong and I feel updating may help but keeps notifying me that device is up to date.

Whether there's an update for a phone depends on two things - the manufacturer modifying the update for their phone and the carrier modifying it for their variant. If your carrier never came out with 6.-, there are no further updates for the phone.

If you're a typical user and drain the battery well under 40% regularly, it's about time for a new battery - it's 4 years old. (Even with charging it when it reaches 40%, 4 years is close to the end of life for a lithium battery.)
