Smartview won't connect to Sony TV

Hi,

I am trying to share my phone screen with my TV.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 and a Sony Bravia TV. I am trying to use the Smartview function.

I keep getting message 'Preparing to mirror screen', but it never actually connects to the TV. It simply times out.

Any suggestions please?

Thanks. Is there a workaround? Any apps that would work between the two?

Chromecast. Your TV may already support it. If not, it's inexpensive to buy
