Just collected and installed a Smash-It screen protector and first impression is really good.
Installation is possibly one of the easiest I have ever done, it comes with an installation tray that works perfect for 100% accurate alignment.
I'm using the white tip in the pen and it glides very smooth on it and sensitivity is every bit as good as the naked screen.
It's black top and bottom and a very thin line on the sides and covers the screen perfect looking from the front but only just, looking from the side you can see screen light so I guess it will not interfere with edge lighting, it doesn't cover full top and bottom there a couple of mm so I imagine this is VERY case friendly.
It came with a carbon fibre effect skin for the back as well which seem very decent quality and has a nice non-slip feel to it, be a bit more carefull with installing this for good alignment though, I did get it right first time but I can see it being easy not to, glue/sticky stuff on it seems good so I don't expect it to peel anytime soon.
Price was 8.99£ on Amazon.co.uk and extra 3€ to my local parcel motel.
I'll give this 4 out of 5 stars
bit of a long write up but hope it helps someone

Hi!

I was looking forward to this review. The Amazon reviews are sort of average for this product, but at least we know that you are actually a real N8 owner that actually bought this product!! Fake reviews on Amazon are rampant!

It's great to hear that you think highly of it. So the screen sensitivity is 100%? Glass protectors with "boundary adhesives" typically have a lot of touch sensitivity issues, good to see this doesn't suffer from that.

Thanks for the heads-up. This is on my shortlist of affordable glass protectors to try.

I've only used it a couple of hours but haven't encountered any issues so far, at the end of the day , no screen protector will be 100% like the naked screen but my opinion is that this one is right up there with the best.
I use a very minimalistic case ( Infreecs ) so would have liked one that covered the whole front completely but it is obviously designed more towards other type cases, I'm happy with it all the same though

I received my Smash-It screen protector on Oct. 21 and installed it that night. My Grandson was playing with my phone and kicked it off the couch onto the floor. The screen has a crack all the way across, left-to-right.

The touch sensitivity is terrible. I have to hit the screen several times to get it to react. I am so unhappy because they tout "Military Grade". If it can't withstand a little fall from a couch then it sure isn't fit for the military.

is it the actual screen or the protector that is cracked ?
if it's the protector then just put on a new one

just a little follow up as I'm now on day 2 using this SP.
Cleaning it this morning I noticed that with screen off in the right angle/light you can notice the dot matrix pattern just a bit and I have a slight bit of rainbow/oil effect but neiter seem to affect use.

Getting one today. Sounds like minor issues. I've yet to find a protector that doesn't have reports of some kind of issue.

Is the touch-sensitivity with stylus and finger still good?

yes seems fine, I do think I every now and again have to be a bit more sort of direct with the pen but it could be because of the white tip or just in my head, it does seem a lot easier to clean properly than the naked screen too.
I have a few other SP's coming in the post plus an extra of these ones in case it acts up or don't last, it's a cheapo one after all

Install went perfectly. Response seems good.
Horrible rainbow though. Does that go away?

I only notice it if screen is off and holding it up in light, after nearly a week I do find it smudges quite badly and is as bad to keep grease free as the screen itself but I spray the cleaner right on to it so I probably rubbed off whatever coating was on it, happy enough though considering price paid, cheapo ones are a bit hit and miss I guess, got a few other ones in the post and a spare of these as well

Thanks. I may keep this on for another day or so just to see if the rainbow goes away.
I fixed it a bit by lifting up one side and pushing down firmly as I slide over towards the edge.

While the film I had on there was a bit tacky when using the stylus, I think it looks much better than this glass protector.

As of now, I can't recommend this product.

I took this off today after 1 week of use and still think it was fair good for the price but it did come off a little to easy for my liking, end verdict after a week is that it'll do the job but it's not a long termer.
I'll be putting on a Vigeer full coverage one tomorrow so will make a separate post on that one.

funny you should ask this question today, i just got the same case and I think the smash it would work quite good with it, been through a few screen protectors at this stage and smash-it was one of the better even if it did have a little rainbow effect

Ok so I order this screen protector before I asked if my https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Herringbone-Flexible-Protection-Reinforced/dp/B073RWTZ5V/ref=pd_ybh_a_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=JTDKC54H1ECZNK19ZAZVon my Note 8 would work with this Smash-It screen protector.

Quik update. I installed the protector and have a speck of dust under it but overall it looks and feels good. The speck will drive me crazy but nothing like how my S7 Edge looked after the screen cracked and chunks of the screen started falling off while I waited the Note 8 to drop.

Never again will I ride with no case or screen protector.
