Hello,
I have a Samsung Note 9 and my screen is completely smashed and is unresponsive. I used my insurance to get a replacement device. But, I cannot use Smart Switch to transfer my data to my new phone. I was able to transfer my texts, apps, contacts, etc via backup sync, but for some reason my photos and music were being saved on my phone rather than SD card since last March so they are stuck on my phone.
Does anyone know of a way to transfer files from old smashed phone to the new phone, without being able to operate the screen from the old, locked device?
Thank you!
-Joe

Thank you soo much for your quick response!
When I sign in and select the device, I get a notice saying "Your service provider doesn't support the Find My Mobile service on your phone. Only Samsung Pay features are supported."
Am I out of luck?

Which carrier you have , And do you have more then 1 phone associated with that Samsung account?

I have Verizon.
I have my broken phone associated. When I select the broken phone it says service provider doesn't support.
But when I click on the new phone it says "Registration for this phone still pending, registration may take a few days" .

Yeah Verizon was one of the carrier that didn't handle Samsung remotely very well.
Try connecting both phones with otg cable and adapter

I tried to connect them via OTG, but since my phone is locked it wont let me access it. And if I try to use Smart Switch I am required to click within the app to ok sending the data, but cannont due to the screen being unusable...

Yeah not any options left :(

I'm not sure if this is any different or part of the same whole but I initially had issues with findmymobile being a Verizon customer myself. Did you ever look at or go into the settings on the device for Findmymobile? If not this may not work. I'm wondering if this is just a cloud issue, where you're trying to save something to the cloud etc etc. Instead try to use findmymobile to unlock your phone... if it works or seems to work try plugging it into your PC or laptop and see if you can now view the files on the device.

I'd say it's a long shot but at this point it may be the last shot.

Can you still see the display?

If you can still see everything but it isn't responding you can still utilize a keyboard and or mouse to operate android.
