SMS app for the Moto?

Still in my honeymoon stage in my move from my Galaxy S5 to the Moto, and need some help with replacing the stock messaging app.
With my Samsung, I could do two things very easily:
- Send MMS as either a "group" text to multiple people, or send the "group" texts that appear as individual texts.
- Schedule the sending of these texts.

Is there an SMS app out there that I could use that would work as well for these two things as teh stock Samsung app does?

I use Google Messenger. Simple, no frills, just works. I know you can change group texts to MMS or individual in the settings. Don't think there is a text scheduler option. Never needed it personally.

I use Google Messenger but it doesn't have a scheduler option.

I believe Textra allows scheduling.

Textra is the closest thing I have found so far, but it has a couple of limitations:
- No message counter on stock google launcher (they suggest Nova)
- MMS being sent so the replies only come back to me, and it appears as if I sent an individual message. It can be done, but it's a system setting change that has to be done before composing the message.
