sms converting to mms S9

[Android Central Question]

Hi,

I have two questions.

1) My S9 is converting long sms to mms, how do I make it stop?
2) The MMS won't send, it's just a spinning wheel next to the MMS. I've tried both with and without wifi.

Check your carrier website and make sure that you have the proper MMS settings in your phone.

Your carrier (like many others) is converting long sms into mms so it receives as one message rather than a series of shorter sms messages.

They do the sms > mms conversion and that can't be stopped.

Sounds like your mms settings are off and that can be fixed.

Check the settings in your SMS app - a lot of them have a setting like "don't break long messages" - which means "send them by MMS". Turn that off and you'll send individual SMS messages. (Which some people have a problem receiving if they come in out of order. They get them on the screen in the order received, which can get confusing.)
