Might sound noobish but can one mass delete SMS messages without having to individually select each message for deletion, and how does one copy and paste the text from a given SMS message? The only way I managed to copy and paste text was to forward the message and than copy and paste while it was being edited for forwarding.

ok for delte just press and hold on the top msg it will ceck mark it and then you can select another msg do the same and then if done press the trash button on the top right

cant answer the second half

yeah, that I figured out but I was hoping there's a select all option rather than having to tap every single message.

For copying, press and hold on the text, a menu should pop up, and 'Copy' it. Then in a new message, press and hold in the type bar and select 'Paste.' That's typically how it's done.

If you using Messenger, you can delete an entire thread just by pressing and holding on it from the home screen of the app. Copy and paste is just as easy. Press and hold on the message text and select the two overlapping papers image in the top tool bar. Press and hold in the desired text box and select paste to transfer.
