SMS messages: some words show in grey "bubble"

If your "Smart Emoji" setting is already off, click it once to check it "on", then again to turn it back off. Just worked here for me just now.

Hey Everyone. new to the android family but this fix has nothing to do with the smart emoji. You need to go into settings, then "language and input" then "samsung keyboard" and turn off "predictive text".

It seems that every time the app gets automatically updated, this gets reset to the default. Despite what the toggle says, it is ON, and has to be toggled on and off again to make it stop.
