Sms/Mms screen question

Just switched from a Storm 2 and so far like the phone. Question is when you press the message button and it takes you to the sms/msm screen at the bottom there is 3 icons. On my phone there is is a number 1 in a blue circle next to the first 2 icons. can not figure out what this is for. please help.

That should mean that you have one unread message....

Mine would get stuck where it would continue to show 1 or 2 and not go away. I deleted all my messages from everyone and it was still there. I had to restart my phone to get it to disappear.

I would also get that green bubble with a number 1 on it even though i have read all my texts. It usually happens when i hit the back button fast enough without having the main message screen update. Kind of annoying.

To reproduce this bug, send a text to yourself from another phone. Open it up like you would normally do. Once you read it, keep hitting the back button quickly until you get to the home screen. Open messages, and you should get a green bubble with a number 1 in it saying you have one unread message even though you just read it.

But you can easily fix this by going to menu > settings > applications > manage apps > running apps > messages > clear data / Clear cache > force stop. Go back to the main screen, open up the messages icon and it should be fixed.

Hope HTC gets a fix for this.
