SMS/MMS Synced via Hangouts to Tablet?

Does anyone know if this functionality is planned for Hangouts? W
This would take quite a bit of MightyText's userbase.

It would be amazing if Hangouts on tablets and pc could send SMS/MMS and sync using your phone. Don't know if it's planned but would be great.
