Sms popup

Can someone help me figure out how to disable the baked in notification system so I'm not double notified by sense and sms popup? Sorry new to android and its a huge learning curb for me coming from an iphone

go into your message app hit menu settings

Thanks, I found that section and turned of the setting to show notification in the notification bar, but they are appearing. What else should I uncheck?

ok you can turn off the notification from the smspopup and keep the notification from the messages phone app

I would prefer having the sms popup because I was used to that on my iphone and I don't check my phone for messages often but if I got a popup I would see the message coming in, less chance of me missing a message

yea but if you take off the notifications from sms pop up . the pop will still pop up just with the notification of ur messages app .. you get me

no no no, go to Messages, Menu -> Settings. Uncheck "Recieved notfication", "sent notification" "failure notification"

I would contact the SMS popup developer. He answered me when I had an issue. it may be something to do with the app.

You try rebooting after turning off the notifications?

I don't have those choices on my galaxy II. I just have a check for Notifications

I use iPhone notifications..but since the Android update, I can't shut off the native SMS popup. Unfortunately, iPhone notifications doesn't have am option to sit pdf other notifications like go SMS does.

I figured it out. it was coming from a plug in go launcher ex ...the notification plug in. issue solved.
