open up the stock messenger , press the menu button>settings>notifications>uncheck notifications

Na, my stupid self was thinking it was still the stock SMS notification that kept popping up for the quick reply. The Hancent App uses the stock quick reply if the popup is still turned on. Turned it off and fixed, thx.

Does this phone not do custom alerts for different messages??

different messages meaning e-mail / sms? .. it does that w/o a problem
