SMS problem w/ not "forgetting" text

Lately I've run into an issue with my SMS on the Bolt and it's regarding text in the window that never seems to go away. Let me explain a bit:

1) Open old thread for specific contact
2) Old text from some previous SMS shows up in chat box ("Hey, whats up", for example)
3) Erase old text, enter new text, send, close window
4) Open thread again... same text ("Hey, whats up") is in the text field.
5) Delete thread, open new one for same person
6) Text still shows up

I can't seem to get rid of it and it keeps appearing. Very annoying, but not a deal breaker. Anyone having this issue? I searched forums and didn't see anyone with it.

I've had the issue your describing it only happened to me if I had typed something previously but not sent it and then closed the msg window a quick restart of the phone fixes it though

I was having this same issue, and it was getting extremely frustrating. First I deleted the thread by long-pressing it from the "All Messages" list. Then I pressed the Menu button and went into my drafts and deleted all instances of drafts. Then I restarted and the issue went away.

I've had this issue too. It was from an unsent previous text, I tried deleting the whole thread, emptying the drafts folder, etc. Reboot took care of it... for now. Haven't had it crop back up but... ?? could not figure out where or why it was autopopulating the text field, and it was only with a specific person.

I also occasionally will get a SMS failed error with another person (and so far, ONLY that person). Reboot also fixes that but it does come back occasionally.

Delete your drafts. if this does not fix it right away. then do this

Menu-settings-applications-manage apps- running- message- clear data. (*fixes most problems with apps)
check and see if that fixed it.
if not reboot your phone.
