Sms recipient not receiving text

I just switched to Verizon ion Saturday after being on AT&T's network for a few years. I noticed today that people I am texting do not receive my messae back to them. I have to power down the device and restart for them to state receiving my text. I had to do this about 3 times today. Any ideas what the problem is or have any of you experienced this?

I did have this issue with another android device and ended up replacing it and no issues after that.
Cloud be that you have poor service in your location at time of texting.

best thing to do is power down your phone. pull out the battery and press the power button a few times. I always do 5. then reinstall battery and battery cover. then restart it. fixes all the issues i experience. which aren't many.
