Snapdragon 8+ gen 1

I'm in the UK using the Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra 256Gb Exynos SoC and have had no real world usage issues including battery.

Battery usage being a subjective topic.

In relation to my usage habits and phone set up my s²² Ultra lasts approximately 2 days between charges.

Like some others I take with a pinch of salt the comparison videos and battery stats / bench tests.

Yeah, my S21 Ultra works amazingly. Maybe I should be angrier that it doesn't benchmark as well as the US model

But this goes beyond Exynos vs Snapdragon. We're now apparently blaming Samsung's semiconductor foundry for the unsatisfactory power performance of the Snapdragon8.1.

It could very well be due to manufacturing rather than design, but I'm going to need a bit more than "this foundry is bad because I say so and qualcomm are heroes" to convince me.

Call me crazy but I don't feel like battery life should be a subjective, "your mileage may vary" on a phone that costs $1200-1500. Especially on a phone with a 5000mah cell. This phone was a beta release especially if 6 months later they can release a phone with a 60% larger screen, 600 MAH less battery and it gets the same battery life.

Why wouldn't it vary. You might kep your screen brighter than me; I might keep my screen on longer than you; you might use apps that require more power to the CPU.

Unless you want to be told exactly HOW To use your phone, your mileage will vary.

Same with actual mileage (MPG) on a car that costs 10 times this much. That's just science.

And to add my 5G area might get better coverage where someone else suffers and draining battery more

My battery life is awesome and I am a heavy user can easily get 8 or more hours every day. I also never worry about my battery keep chargers everywhere can't worry about the small stuff in life.

I know it will vary person to person but many people are getting 4-4.5 hours SOT including myself. What I mean is you shouldn't have to turn off every feature the phone came with for $1500 battery should be a non issue

Does it last a day or end of the day? I wouldn't worry too much on SOT

correct: my 2015 Silverado 3500HD with 177K miles is still going on the original brakes because I don't drive like I'm in NASCAR. ymmv

I will say my battery life and performance was miles better on my S21 Ultra than it is on my S22+. Almost every time I open my camera, it lags. I haven't experienced this much lag on a phone since my LG G4. I'm strictly speaking of camera lag.

Battery life is based on the user not the device. So many variables can cause bad battery life so to say this or that device has better battery life. Some days I can't figure how I get great battery life on my devices. Everyone said the 13 pro has awesome battery life but for me it did not so go figure.

Battery life is based on the user *and* the device.

I've not had bad battery with the s22U... I usually don't go by these side by side tests I'd rather go real world... But that said I'm sure the new gen processor from the looks of it will be a better performer but that's the way it goes when you're starting new phones and I'm sure Samsung had already committed to the previous gen with S22 production
I agree I have gotten 24 hr on a charge 8-10 on screen time. But I have chargers at home and in car with a portable charger too if needed. So I am very happy with my S22 ultra

S22 ultra was the worst Samsung I've ever had. terrible battery life, God awful signal strength, instant overheating outdoors and random reboots. so far the fold four has none of those issues.

it appears that a number of these issues have been addressed in the Beta.

That may be so but I never experienced any of those issues at all with my S22U. It may just have been a bad phone.
I experienced the overheating, restarts (when out in the heat) prior to the Beta. now, not a problem. others in the Beta have made similar comments...who knows?
