It pops up out of nowhere and doesn't appear in the recent tasks and doesn't specify what app it is.

"tap and install 3 apps on the list to unlock the plus version"

Its an evil little app that only pops up every so often so as to not rile me up so much I actually do something about it but I've had enough! I googled the message in quotes and got nothing! Am I the only victim??

Took the pic of my backup phone, a galaxy s2 because I'm trying not to lose the app. I'm using my main phone to write this. This sneaky app is actually on my main phone too so it probably is related to an app both phones have and off the top of my head they both have holo launcher, my favorite launcher... maybe not for long. Anyway. Anybody know of any apps that will show you what's going on on your phone including sneaky apps like these? Mcafee and AVG didn't find anything. And now the phone is going off like a fire alarm most probably due to that bug no doubt.

I couldn't use the file uploader on this site and my phone is an LG G5 so I don't know what the problem is. Doesn't look to be made well for mobile -an android site smh

What does your battery usage monitor look like? If its an actual background running app thats popping up the banner... I think your battery usage monitor will show what apps are running. That might help narrow it down a bit, especially if its a backup phone that you are not actively using much.

Under developer options you can check the Running Services feature to see whats using RAM.

Hopefully its detect-able in some way though. Good Luck!! i wish I could offer more advice.

Curious. why would a launcher do that? A launcher is nothing more than a desktop icon manager / background and overall theme... or am I wrong about that?

Has it always behaved this way?

One thing that makes me nervous about open source apps is when they sell or change ownership... and the new owners decide to change things up.

Never did I before to my knowledge. Why? Money? I believe it's called "lookout" or something. That security app -it has always warned me about holo and I even questioned them about it but they never responded and I've always liked the app but not until recently have I seen this. Now I know why lookout was notifying me
