So far I'm very happy.

Thanks! I picked up my Pixel 6 Pro at Best Buy this afternoon and had them handle the set up and transfer of data from my Pixel 5. (I always ask them to open the box and complete that process while I wait so that I can be sure the phone is free of apparent defects and functioning properly before I exit the store.) The transition went smoothly -- I was surprised that the transfer was so thorough that I didn't even need to sign into my Google account -- and so far the new P6P seems to be working just as flawlessly as the old P5. The larger dimensions are going to require some period of adjustment, but I'm looking forward to exploring, and exploiting, the features of the P6P that were not available on the P5. I'll report back if I encounter any issues, because I know that others who frequent this forum might consider making the jump now that the price has been discounted.

Thank you so much for your review after owning the device for a few hours! I really appreciate it! Glad the setup process was a breeze (and good for you for letting that happen in-store, to ensure there are no device defects!), and that you are loving the experience so far!

Yes, please keep us posted! I'm going to check Best Buy's Canadian website now to see if the same deal exists in my neck of the woods!

Not quite 2 weeks in and my new pixel 6 Pro has been problem free and very impressive. Coming from a OnePlus 7 Pro that I was very happy with I'm missing the OnePlus UI a lot less and appreciating the pixel more. Call screening is awesome, given the amount of robo spam calls I used to get. It's speedy, nothing has stood out as a problem. I'm glad to say that I'm happy with this phone. Speaking of phone, the calls are extremely clear. Everything works no issues so far. Maybe I'm an isolated case, but I'm really liking the Pixel.

Regretfully I decided this week to move on from my pixel 6. I really did enjoy its strengths but the issues I had were big enough to where I felt that it was unacceptable considering that there were other choices out there without those same issues. There were some things about my pixel I really loved. I'm going to truly miss the automatic call screening. There's nothing like telling a scammer to take a hike without having to even answer your phone. Google should really market that feature more because imo it's a pixel killer app. I just couldn't deal with the fingerprint sensor even after all the updates. It just won't work reliably for me. Furthermore, the pixel 6 becomes almost unusable when I enter an area with weaker cell phone reception, no doubt due to the crappy modem that Google decided to put in it. I did want to post my comment though because I have hope for the future of the pixel and I will be watching the pixel 7 very closely. I am sure that Google will upgrade the fps and modem in the pixel 7 and when that happens i think it will become the perfect phone as long as they can keep it at the same price point.

With all the problems with the pixel 6 series. Seems the best best is to hold off and give the Pixel 7 a shot. Its only 6 months away.

In fairness, I think that deciding what is the "best" course of action in choosing whether to take advantage of the current $200 discount on the Pixel 6 Pro or to wait six months for the release of the Pixel 7 can only be determined by each individual based on their personal circumstances and judgment. While some purchasers of the Pixel 6 Pro have reported problems of varying degrees, others are satisfied users who are having no issues (or at least none that they consider significant). I've only had mine for one day, so I cannot yet give a definitive evaluation on which others could feel comfortable relying; but so far it's performing flawlessly -- and I'm delighted with the enhancements from the Pixel 5, which I thought was the best smartphone I ever used.

FWIW, I was facing that dilemma even before the price drop, because my Pixel 5 was running short of storage space, and we are preparing to travel abroad from mid-May to mid-June, when I typically take a large number of photos and videos. (I have 2TBs of Google One cloud storage, but prefer to keep many of my photos on my phone to enable access when an internet signal is not available, which happens sometimes when traveling.) So in my case, the discount was a deciding factor that prompted me to pull the trigger. I'll admit that I've also been encouraged by the recent posts in this thread from other P6P users whose experience with the device has been positive.

No doubt, those who are uneasy about the P6 and who feel no urgency to upgrade their existing phones might be well advised to wait, at least until more is known about the Pixel 7. But others may, like me, find the discounted price to be a tipping point in favor of acting now despite having some reservations. In the end, I don't think we can say that there is any "best" advice of universal applicability; nor is there any "gold standard" expert review that we can deem sufficiently reliable to make our decision to purchase or postpone easier. All we can do is try to glean what information we can from the experiences of other users who share their observations here, and hope for the best in what we eventually choose to do.

I've had the p6pro since a few weeks after launch.

Overall the phone is very smooth, responsive and is just what I need.

I have three things that I don't love - glare/flare in the camera seems to be more than previous pixels I had. I do have a skin on the camera bar which should cut back glare of lights in darker situations, but it's still too much and has ruined some good shots. Otherwise I love the cameras for all other shooting scenarios. The selfie camera could be a bit better as well but it's not terrible to me.

the fingerprint sensor is good but has annoying hiccups. I need a great fingerprint sensor. Some people trash the FPS as barely working. Not my experience. It works more than not but needs to be better. So I'[d prefer a great not good rating for something that is how you get into your device all the time, but can get by fine with good.

Battery life is ok to kinda good, but it is quite variable. The last update definitely helped a lot - the modem tweaks probably made the most difference. Again, the battery if is not bad, it's ok to kinda good, which means it works for me but still leaves me some room for not quite feeling comfortable about it when I go out if I forget to charge up to a certain amount.

I'm hoping the 7 definitely puts in a better FPS sensor. I know the camera array will be very similar but hopefully they work on the glare a bit. With another year of tweaking out their Tensor chip setup as well as adding the next gen Samsung modem, I'm hoping they increase battery life as well.

Following up on battery life with 5G on during a busy workday @I Can Be Your Hero (I hadn't forgotten, just had been off work for a little bit:)). I was on call at the hospital, with my phone being off charger for 17 hours (7 AM to midnight), and physically being in the hospital from about 8 AM to 10:30 PM (with terrible wi-fi, and dead spots for cell signal in various areas). Battery went from 100% to 39%. This is quite excellent for me -- prior phones (Pixel 3 XL, Galaxy A32 5g, Pixel 3a XL) would typically be down to the 30s by around 9-10 PM.

In keeping with my promise to report back if I encounter any issues with my new Pixel 6 Pro, I'm obliged to share news of my first glitch: I've noticed that after 2-3 days, I'll open my wallet case to find that the screen is dark and unresponsive -- the Always On Display is not working, and neither the Lift To Check Phone nor the Tap To Check Phone functions are operating. On those occasions, the only way I can activate the lock screen is by clicking the power button. Fortunately, it seems that a simple restart is sufficient to fix the problem, at least for a few days. So it's a minor issue at most, but one that merits reporting.

I've seen that a few times. Send feedback to Google about it!

I'm having the same issue. My Always on Display is on as well as Tap to Wake. I do not have Lift to Wake enabled. Several times per day, the screen becomes unresponsive. The Always on Display is working but the fingerprint sensor does not respond at all and no amount of tapping wakes the screen. I have to press the power button, which wakes the screen and then I am able to unlock with the fingerprint sensor. Restarts don't solve the problem for me . . . at least not completely. It's not a constant issue but it still happens several times per day. I've reported the issue to Google.

I had same issue with the regular Pixel 6. I sold it a while back. So I don't know if its still an issue.
