I'm considering taking the plunge and getting the S3, I currently have the S2 which I like(aside from the battery life).

I have a chance to pick up a new one for $350-ish, is it worth the $$$? I know I can sell my S2 and accessories for around 250.

Is the phone that much better than the S3?

Yes its very much worth it. I picked up my S3 about 2 weeks ago. Loving every minute of it!
I sold my S2 on eBay for about $250.

If you have a s2 I think it might be better to wait. The s2 is still a great phone and the difference is not that big at all in the us version of the s3. I'm waiting for them to release the s3 with a quad core. I'm sure they will and if not I might pick up the next galaxy nexus.

Of course if money is not a issue and you don't mind paying full price for a phone, then go for it. But I still think its not worth it imho.

Also, I wanted to add both phones are getting jelly bean. If the s2 wasn't getting jelly bean I would go for the s3.

I'm not paying full price for it, no way I'd pay full retail price for ANY phone, working on a deal with someone to snatch one up for $300-325.

The only way to get a quad core S3 is to buy the unlocked international version, basically at full price. Its also been shown that the dual core actually performed a little better then the quad core.
All US versions use the dual core S4 Snapdragon processor because of LTE. Samsung's exynos processor doesn't play well with LTE.

Well I picked up a used one for $300. I giggled a little when the GPS connected in 3 seconds compared to the 5 minutes it took on the S2 lol

Just picked mine up about 2 hours ago. My S2 took a swim today or I wouldn't have done it , even though my upgrade was available. So far it's decent but, it doesn't feel like enough of an improvement to do it just because.

If you use sprint set up a Google Voice account. The Google Voice app itself will transfer all text to any phone. Plus you get to use your Sprint cell phone number as your Google Voice number. It doesn't help with your current situation I know, but it is something to know for the future

I'm working on my procrastination issues, you just wait and see!

I wouldn't go that far to say the dual core performs better than the quadcore exynos. The dual core's per core performance maybe better but the difference is not that big. Your comparing a 32nm processor vs a 28nm.

Also the GPU on the quadcore version is waaay better. Have you tried running pop up video on the dual core version yet? Its a laggy mess, on the quad core version, you can run the video while still playing shadow gun with no lag.

I have used the pop up video many times on my dual core gs3 with absolutely no lag and butter smooth video.

Even had two videos going at the same time one full screen and one popup window. And yes it worked fine as both videos played smooth.

I just upgraded Sataurday. Was worth it to me as only cost me $106 not includeing tax. Had to upgrade before the end of the year or have to wait till September 2013. So this was my last once a year upgrade. :'( If you are not in a LTE area wait till you are. So far only issue I have is that "cell standby" reads way too high and is a known issue. Hope it gets fixed in next update.

The video plays fine but when you swipe left to the right in the app drawer or home screen the frame rate of the gestures move way down. It becomes laggy like the original droid one. When try to play a graphically heavy game like shadow gun the game grinds to halt. Mind you this is the only way I can get the phone to lag at will so I don't use this feature because it will just get me mad. Lol and its not just on my phone. All my friends gs3 and my wife's does the same thing.

I haven't really been able to get this phone to lag. Have never noticed lag switching home screens or while in the app drawer. However, the only game on this phone is solitaire.

i upgraded from the s2 i had to pay the regular price my contract is not up until next summer ive had this phone for about three weeks, and i havent really had any problems with it, no lag and it is very fast i must say...i dont feel so bad after all spending the 700 dollars on it
