So how many people

I'm number 161. Dont understand the point of this. So is it really limited quantity ? What if the demand is high ?

Seems like Samsung is playing games to drive interest. I can’t believe people are lining up for this one. Classic early adopter beta tech. I was number 2000 this morning. That doesn’t seem like a lot of interest.

Who wants to get in line so they can tell the nearest criminal that they have a $2000 cell phone and enough disposable income to buy a $2000 piece of electronics? No thanks.

I think the people you are referring to will probably be getting this shipped to their house lol

All the ones questioning the quantity need to remember when the note edge was released. It was very limited and also hard to find. Clearly Samsung is using this phone as a test to evolve into a more standard device should they feel success with the fold. Either you get it or you don't. Don't think Samsung would care either way as I'm sure they will sell the stock to someone that wants the latest and greatest no matter the cost.

Latest.....yes
Greatest....not so sure

I signed up for the reserve to preorder, got the preorder email last night while sleeping, clicked to preorder this morning and they are out. This was for AT&T. I was 4404 in line on the reservations for the preorder....apparently there are 4500 per carrier available.

If that’s true 4500 each that’s ridiculous. I got my email at 10 pm last night and wanted to sleep on it. I sure am not buying green.

I passed on the preorder. The crease and thickness kill it for me. I hope the second generation is better.

If you don't preorder.

You can wait and go in Best Buy and play with one a few weeks or so after that.
Its not the end of the world if you don't get the very 1st phone.

If I even thought about one.
I would want it unlocked from Best Buy.

The carriers will not tell you the truth.
They told me I could take the S8+ and unlock them when I got them paid for.

It didn't happen.
They wouldn't unlock it.

They do and have. Sprint unlocked my S8+ and its moving to TMo. Just a new sim once its unlocked.

They handed out far more than 4500 reservations for each carrier. Reservation numbers above 7400 have been posted online for either carrier. I was number 17xx and got the preorder last night. Almost went to bed figuring would do it in the morning and little birdie said, get er done.

Ordered a silver for Tmo and added the Samsung Care plan too. Takes a bit of the risk away from the new tech. Also agreed to the 12month upgrade plan just to leave the option open. Did not cost any extra.

Disappointed to see the shipping date not until May first though. Thought it was supposed to be out by the 26th. At least I have one ordered. They are sold out now. Really looking forward to this. Been watching the tech develop for years.

If I was to break my hand and buy another Samsung product.
It would have to be a unlocked phone from Best Buy.

But its hard to see me wanting another Samsung phone.

It will probably be in Best Buyin a month.

I will look at it.
But that is about all I will do.

Its the 1st year of Technology.

Guess its coming in 4G too.

What about 5G

Tmobile isn't at Best Buy. But that would be a good place to look at it. From Tmobile's tweets or whatever I read, it will be at "select" tmobile stores.

I didn't preorder and only somewhat interested. Not sure which tmobile store would have one where I live. They're all tiny little stores/franchisees.

Normally, an early adopter of Samsung smartphones. The price and the fact that this generation one device is going to take a while to mature enough to lower the price and overcome the design and hardware sacrifices necessary to roll it to reviewers. Next month, we'll get a better feel for the device in terms of items for improvement resulting from the shakedown period once it gets into the hands of every day users.
