So, I have an android HTC phone and Im missing messages. Can I still somehow retrieve them??

A few months ago I had some messages from my ex that could be very helpful with my custody battle. These were messages that could potentially keep my daughter safe in my care. They were about dangerous things he did. Please help!!

Welcome to Android Central! Do you mean you deleted the messages, or they never arrived on the phone? If they're not on the phone, you won't be able to get them there. Try asking your carrier if there are any copies on their server.
