I believe you are referring to the leaked Gingerbread for the European Galaxy S. Not going to happen. They are on GSM, we are on CDMA. Incompatible software. We have already seen a few examples of the hell that software plays on the Fascinate. So if anybody out there that reads this is thinking about trying anything meant for the i9000 Fascinate, don't. You will regret it.

Adrynalyne spent hours with one guy coming up with a solution for it. Through the whole process, the guy kept insisting "but it says fascinate on it" Adrynalyne shared the steps in a post and I think DroidXcon has helped 2 people recover from the same mistake.

Now that you mention it, I remember seeing the results of that thread. Adrynalyne was pretty adamant afterwards that he never wanted to see it again, if I remember correctly.

Yep. It seemed like for a few days in a row we had several people wanting to flash stuff meant for a different phone onto the Fascinate. I let my frustration get the best of me and wrote a crack to the effect of "hey while you're at it why don't you try taking parts from the Taurus and forcing them onto the Focus. Should work, I mean they're both Fords after all."
