And I ran with my tails between my legs. I just want to go back to stock, Touchwiz crap-tastic default Android. I deleted the update.zip file from my storage and tried to restore it via-debug menu but it wouldn't allow me.

What do I do now?

Can you please edit your thread title to something that pertains to the actual topic / question you have?

It makes it so much easier for other people to know what the thread is about before actually clicking on it. And it also helps answering your question faster too since other users will know what you're asking.

Sorry, but I'm kind of frustrated seeing thread titles posted as "So I was doing this...." or "After reading a few threads...." or "What do you guys think of this.."
Such generic titles that doesn't explain what the thread topic is even going to be about.

I just for the time being wanted to keep Vanilla until a really good clean android rom turns out... unless there's already one with no Touchwiz on it at all, that'd be great.

I used Odin and everything worked flawlessly after messing with my Captivate for 30 mins hah.

Uhhh what are you talking about??? There is no Vanilla UI for the Captivate yet. The closest thing would be launcher pro or even adw launcher. But even those arent true vanilla. And yes funny or not the thread title is terrible.

this guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Rooting doesn't change the ui at all. there's no vanilla ui period. what the hell?

Oh excuse me Mr. Guru's. I meant Vanilla as in the Default Rom that comes with the Captivate. Sorry to get your panties in a bunch by messing up the android lingo. 1,000 bows in your greatness. ...ffs.

Dude, you were talking about Vanilla, which most people associate with Vanilla android, not the stock UI which is Touchwiz on the Captivate. Don't get lippy with us because of your mistake in terminology. I am just as new to this stuff as you are, so make sure you do your research at xda to understand what to do.

Sorry, didn't mean to offend you via-text. I'll be sure to be much more careful as I walk on egg shells on the internet.
