So... I'm ebaying this POS Bionic

What exactly was false about my statement? Why dont you do a google or even a forum search for Verizon bloatware and see how many people agree with me?

You've still not provided what exactly I said that was false, unless you fail to grasp the concept or sarcasm... which honestly wouldn't surprise me.

Once a month? There's no way. And Motorola's bootloaders are worse than Apple's? Laughable.

I see now that you just in fact fail to realize the sarcasm in my statement. Also google did code name the phone the "Nexus Prime" so the phone was called the Nexus Prime for a long time and still is in some circles. You may want to wiki that. That was in fact trolling on that subject by your part. My legitimate gripe about the bloatware on updates is in fact true and widely accepted in the smartphone industry.

I know what the hell the phone was code named, as I already stated. That's why I laughed at you. And yes, bloatware is annoying, and of course it's accepted, but updates don't come every month, sarcasm or not.

Fair enough, and I think it's pretty pathetic that you get your jollies about someone calling a phone by it's original name on an android forum. But hey, opinions are like ******, right?

Do you call movies by their code names? No. I'm only upset because you assumed I didn't know.

Guys... first and last time I'll say this... Keep the thread on topic and stop calling each other trolls.
Please read the forum rules and guidelines if you're unsure on how to behave.

Trolling - Do not post inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages to provoke users into responding in a negative way. Calling another member a troll is also a form of trolling.

Taking Threads Off Topic (aka Thread Crapping) - While the interplay of a conversation in the forums will naturally wander; members must not intentionally derail a thread from its original topic.

Thank You..

No problem, I'm all for keeping this on topic. I'm not the one who was trying to derail my own thread. :)

I hate to hear that you've had such a bad experience with the Bionic. While it has not been the best Android phone that I've ever had, so far it's been a good one.

Love my Bionic. I don't root. Don't need to - it does everything I want. I suppose if you have trouble rooting and playing with the phone it may not be for you - it doesn't make the phone a POS, it just makes it the wrong phone for the tinkerer.

i had a rooted fascinate and a rooted droid x, i prefer my moto over the sammy anyday. hopefully i wil get my bionic today in the mail

IMO I love this phone. I came from a Pre to a BB Style to this. I hate that u resent this phone but to others its an excellent piece of hardware. Get the one that suits u but if it doesn't either, maybe its u and try not to be so disparaging. Good post tho.

I love my Bionic. I am rooted and I am running a custom ROM (Eclipse 2.2). I don't understand what the big deal with the VZW bloatware is honestly... With a dual core processor and a gig of RAM is it really even affecting the use of your device? I think not... Yes it takes up space but meh you should still have plenty to play with. Back in the day on phones with less RAM and storage I could definitely understand the bloatware issue but in today's devices not so much.

And if you seriously have issues with the bloat then root and freeze it or uninstall it. Rooting the Bionic is freaking pretty darn easy in my opinion, thanks to all the Devs and their hard work.

As to updates the argument that the updates for the Bionic aren't posted is WAY off base. As there were posts and downloads for every update that people could find (.893, .901, .902 etc). Was it a pain for those of us that went to .901 sure but we took that chance by installing a non-official update. That's part of the game with rooting and playing with Android. And it certainly isn't just a game with Moto alone.

Either way like someone else said this phone isn't for everyone, so good luck to you OP on your quest for a device that will work for you and make you happy!

-D

It's not Motorola's responsibility to cover all the bases that someone might encounter while rooting. If all of the complaints come from when it's rooted, unroot and run it stock. If you can't deal with that due to it being boring or whatever, then sell it on ebay like OP stated and move on. I loved my Bionic but I couldn't pass up the Leap Day sale on the Razr Maxx. Overall I very much enjoy Moto phones. But I also have a lot of respect for the Nexus/Prime or whatever name it's called in whatever circles. Best of luck to the OP with the sale.

Since I see locked down and bootloader in the OP...I assume thats what most of the complaints are about.

If thats the case...just get a more open device. If its a POS cuz it cant function how its supposed to at all... I would agree. I dont have one...but if it does work fine for you how its supposed to minus the bootloader, rooting and bloatware....is it fair to say its a POS? It may just be its not what you want in a phone.

Or has updates made it worse for you?

I have a RAZR...and you will hear ppl hating and complaining about it that dont like it. But for me...it does what I want, it fits my wants n needs very well. So no matter how many ppl say its sucks or its a POS... I will never see it that way. This is why we need to figure out what we want out of these phones, tablets BEFORE we get them. Its will make your life that much easier.

I had a RAZR first, got a G Nex and Rezound later thinking I was missing something. I was missing something...being content with my initial choice...cuz I got the RAZR knowing what I wanted and needed out of a phone. Got rid of my G Nex for a Rezound. Now I'm in the process of trying to get rid of my Rezound....lol
