No IP rating on the Moto X. But it's advertised having Motorola's Splash Guard. "Moto X's nano-coating is water resistance against spills, splashes and rainfall."

I wouldn't go around treating it like a Galaxy S5 or Galaxy S5 Active but for minor splashes like rain, the phone should be fine.

I wouldn't hold it underwater, but should be fine with small accidental water contact. My RAZR HD had the same rating and did fine with rain, being in my sopping wet pocket while pressure washing, and having a glass if water spilled on it.

My friend has a RAZR that went in the river in his pocket and worked fine after

My wife's Droid Razr M has this same nano-coating and survived 2 separate dunks in toilets with no problems. The nano-coating is amazing, just don't ask about the toilets or my wife. LOL
