So many years - any solution to the ghost call problem?

My Galaxy S6 has just resumed calling people by itself. This is a couple weeks after a new system tweak downloaded. Before that the problem had disappeared for a few months.

I've had the problem off and on for about a year. This time - minutes ago - I was in a phone conference and my phone spontaneously dialed someone else. I had to cut off that call and resume my work conference.

Every time I probe around the internet seeing if anyone has found a solution; all I find is more mystified people, and more reports of stonewalling by Samsung, Verizon, etc.

For some of these poor devils, it's been an intermittent problem for around five years. Some have solved it by getting iPhones.

For the record, I've tried everything from turning off gestures, factory resets, you name it. I'm less seeking a personal diagnosis/solution than information: has any entity, either Samsung or any carrier, acknowledged yet that this is a real problem? And is there a fix in the works?

You aren't using a headset, are you?

I have had similar issues in the past when a headset's wiring/control pod was damaged.
