So much Sony hate?

I have a Z2 and I get quite alot of questions from people day to day. Some people like the phone and say it looks really nice. Others think it's a iPhone 6 at first glance (actually don't know how) and then go 'Ew it's a sony'.

Why do some people hate sony phones so much although it's better than a iPhone 6 in terms of internals and appearance?

Personal preference and not knowing much about the brand. Here in the states many people may not even know that Sony produces smart phones. So when they see it it may come to a surprise.

I had the z1s and loved the ui camera etc but the 4.4.4 update not being pushed for ever and those flaps really annoyed me after a while so I liked it to an extent...no hate hear

I never got an Sony phone, but some friends say that the customization made in the Android ROM by Sony made the phone someway bad... just my 5 cents

Well, "better than the iPhone 6" is subjective. Sony also just doesn't command the same level of respect as it once did. Were this the 80s, then the attitude toward a Sony would be much different.

I'm using Z2 loved it, the only thing that annoy me is only it heat more than other phones.

I think hate is a little extreme, it's mostly ignorance of how much Sony has stepped up their game recently. Because Sony's carrier presence in some markets hasn't existed for so long ie. US, the only ones who know about it are technophiles. The large majority of reviewers and users are pretty impressed with the Z series in 2014, but that's not translating into advertising in the US yet.

Don't let other people around you steer your enjoyment of it, I converted to Sony starting at the Z1 and there hasn't been an Xperia model since then that isn't as good as everything else available.

i used to love sony just because of its camera, but looks like they are no longer focus on this
later phones have higher cam resolution, but worse image color
i will get back to sony if they produce something like c901 ^^

The new z3 series is as high end as they come imo. People go by what they hear. Iphone is all over the news and they don't pay attention enough to know there are better phones out there. Uninformed people.. Sorta like how many vote. :O

Probably, you're in the US. But I admit Sony's first smartphones weren't good.

I love the look of the new Sony phones, my only real problem (not really a problem though lol) is how they associate it too much with ps4 stuff. I agree it's great you can play your games or whatnot on it (haven't looked into it too much) but I know Verizon likes to mention how that's a plus.

I personally would like the phone better if that stuff wasn't mentioned. But on the other hand I know they probably sell a decent amount of units just because of the ps4 features.

I ordered a Z3 Tablet Compact on launch day, and I've been loving it. It's the first Android tablet I've ever enjoyed using, and I'm otherwise all-in on Android. Before this, the only tablet I ever liked was my iPad with Retina Display that I won from iMore. I've owned the first and second Asus Transformer EeePads, a rooted Kindle Fire (I actually liked that one besides it's drawbacks), and a Galaxy Tab 3 7. All had various levels of crappiness.

This Sony is thin, nice-looking, and fast with a good battery. I only wish the Z3 phone was available on Sprint.
