So the V20 is NOT the first Nougat device?

So I'm totally confused. I was considering the V20 until the Pixel was announced. Sold. I ordered the Pixel XL. The pre-order date for the V20 is October 21st. Whereas the ship date for the Pixel is Oct 21st. I'm still reading that the V20 is the first device with Nougat. Any thoughts?

Marketing strategies to sell you the phones? Anyways, why would it matter so much if it is the first, second, third, whatever...?

I've had nougat on my 6p for over a month now.

I don't care if it were the 20th device to get Nougat. I buy something based on my needs, not how it's marketed. I just found it odd that the LG V20 was marketed as the first Nougat device but my Pixel XL is being delivered October 21st and the V20 is up for pre-order on the 28th.

I think it goes on sale in Korea before the 21st.

LG will find a way to get the V20 out in Poland so they can claim FIRST.

Yeah...I've had it on my S7 Edge also for about the same amount of time. Not a huge difference.

Unless you have installed a custom Rom, your S7 edge is not on Nougat. What carrier/version of the phone do you have?

I remember LG saying that the V20 was the first phone to "launch" with Nougat. That wording is important, since "launch" to a phone manufacturer means the announcement, not the availability date.

Also, did it say first to launch with Nougat, or did it say 7.0? Because technically it WILL be the 1st to launch with 7.0, the Pixels ate launching with 7.1

It is.... If you load it yourself.

If you installed a custom rom, something I hadn't thought about; and still don't notice much difference, then I guess I understand. Cosmetically there is not that much difference, but it ran smoother on my 6P when I had it. The ability to have different wallpapers on home & lock screens, and multi window are some changes I liked also.

I'm assuming he did based on his above comment.

Sorry, I probably misread your first post.
