So what DON'T you like about the GS3?

Besides being second best to the evo lte in terms of screen nothing much else. Enjoying my 2gigs of ram running cm10 jelly bean 4.1

how stable is cm10 now? does "project butter" make as much difference to the s3 as on the gnex?

The Bluetooth thing really pisses me off. When you have it connected by way of the headphone jack, and paired to the car for incoming calls, it won't route the call to Bluetooth. So you have to hurry and unplug the headphone jack from the phone so you can take the call.

I've had other Samsung phones, and my phone before this was a Motorola Bionic... I haven't had this problem before this phone.

Overall, I love the phone. It is strong, powerful, and does just about everything I need.

Minor gripes -

1 - Screen is invisible in bright sunlight.
2 - S-voice almost unusable in car while driving. (Gets confused by road noise?)
3 - Takes too many steps to get things done.

On that last issue, I am coming off 3 years with a Palm Pre, and WebOS is very smooth and intuitive. What used to take only one or two steps takes me up to 5 now. Simple things like closing a program, switching programs, even finding something (Just Type, I miss you!)

Hopefully as Android matures it will get more integrated between programs so that the same gestures/actions will become universal.

S3 is a great phone. I am enjoying it.

I'd like to know what you would consider a pro with a phone that has as many problems as being reported world wide. Although these problems can be fix IMO, the fact that Sammy has once again deployed a phone with as many issues and to add, being questioned about quality manufacturing, should be enough to make people take a second thought about the pro's. In addition, BYOD users are apt to not root their devices due to corporate restrictions and those that see the phone as a novelty will, that does not do much for the majority. I like the phone, overall, but I'm a stickler about quality. If my beemer lagged when I put it in drive, I would take it back to the dealer and make them fix it, not get a wrench and open the hood to solve the problem. Rooting is great for those that want to be there own mechanics, won't work in the corporate world, at least not right now.

You have to remember that as always, the amount of issues we see here and on other tech sites is disproportionate to their occurrence elsewhere. I haven't rooted my phone and have no plans to do so, but it doesn't lag. I've encountered no problems that would require a root to fix. Anecdotal evidence to be sure, but I'm sure many would agree.

Nope, none of the (available) third party e-mail or web browsers address my complaints. The app stutter is a Touchwiz issue so you'd need to flash a different ROM to get rid of it.

Can't you just use a different launcher like Apex or Nova?

Music or podcasts stop playing 60% of the time after receiving a text.
Don't like the email app, pages and images scale differently.
Cut and paste feels clunky.
Battery dies randomly on me every 5 to 7 days (might be an AT&T radio issue)
Some headphone mic/remotes dont work :(

Some of these are android related then gs3.

You may be correct. However, I'm seeing lots of posts all over the web about the poor quality and s/w related issues. Maybe if sammy dropped touchgizz and provide their own branded sIII with bare-metal ICS or JB that would solve the issues. But as long as they tweak, we'll be their ginny-pigs I guess!

I wish the phone was thicker, holding the phone can be difficult.

Wireless calling funks out on me from time to time. Though to be honest, I did root almost as soon as I got it... because TMo wanted to charge me to tether, for the little I wanted to use it.

Ive only got 2 complaints.

*Color options. I dont like white phones, pebble "purple" is BARELY tolorable. Least they couldve done was make the trim silver/chrome like the white and not metalic purple....... and im not big on the garnet red tho the dark trim is really nice..
and
*imho, it feels like a cheap toy in my hand.

Not a fan of TW, but it was only on my phone for about 5 min before i was on CM10

Not a fan of the button layout either. wouldnt be so bad if back was on the left. it being on the right just seems... not right. you know?
Ive since deactivated key backlighting and both my back and menu buttons, turned my home button into a dedicated camera button and turned on the onscreen software buttons so that problems been solved. ;)

Can't put apps on the sd card, the fact that it has physical buttons

That's pretty much it

I don't like that every other cell phone owner drops their jaw and says WTF! Tired of that, let me have my beast, and let my beast roar....

dont think thats ever gona happen other than on (the plural of Nexus lol) Nexi? anyway.. i think samsung want their own OS. i can see them either skinning android more and more, developing their own or buyin an established os like Web Os

Can't use the camera at weddings, in church and other events that require silence because you can't turn off the Camera sound.

Have you tried turning the volume all the way down? I take pictures all the time with my camera sound off.

lol i thought the back button at wrong side would bother me but it took like a couple days to get used to it. im right handed though lol but i tend to use both thumbs. they should really have made a setting to swap them since its just software

if your rooted you can swap them. goto system>usr>keylayout
open sec_touchkey.kl with text editor and just swap the first 2 keys around but then the images for the buttons would be wrong.

me, i turned of my backlighting for the capacitive keys alltogether, disabled back and menu, made home a dedicated camera button and enabled the onscreen software keys. much better imho ;-)

I also think the users that do not have problems will not be as vocal as the users with problems, for obvious reasons. (I have a problem and I want it fix right NOW vs I have no problem, so I will just move along.) The quality of my S3 is quite good. I have no complaints about it (coming from an iPhone 4). And I also don't have much s/w related issues. I dislike the email app in the S3 but then again, I am not super happy about iPhone 4's lack of including attachment options either. I use Nova Prime and like it.

I think as long as we use any type of technology, we are still going to be guinea pigs to the manufacturers. For example, lets try adaptive window wipers; hey it works, lets keep using it. Or, boo, it doesn't work, lets not keep it. Technology will always evolve, as will the users; so, users will always be guinea pigs.

Nvr a dropped call for me vzw

I'm with Verizon, and unfortunately, I get at least 1 dropped call a day. My reception sucks. Especially at my house, and it wasn't like that with my t-bolt or my BlackBerry.

Try Aquamail for email. Solved all my problems on an S II.
I find Swype keyboarding light years better than iPhone.
