Amazon announced that these apps would be available on the day that the device was released, but I don't see them. There was an immediate update out of the box that my Kindle Fire performed, and this added the Facebook icon, but it's just a shortcut to the Facebook mobile site. Netfliz and Hulu weren't installed and neither can be found in the Amazon Appstore. Anyone know where these apps are?

Note you need to subscribe to Hulu Plus (7.99 bucks a month) to get access.
Hulu Plus Available on Amazon this says it is on the app store.

Did you install the Facebook app from the store? It is listed there, so it should be more than just an icon.

probably only lets you update once every 24 hours like most phones would be my guess if its not letting you do it through the settings menu.

Netflix and Hulu are in the appstore. They are in the top free apps. I was immediately able to download them yesterday after I set up my Fire.

Is teh fire going to get an actual facebook app or is it always just going to be the weblink, anyone know?

It updated magically when I charged it, but it still runs an OLD kindle version...notice the lack of page turn animations.
