Soak Test Announced

FYI: just read on Android Headlines (Oct 1, 2015) that Motorola is preparing a Droid Turbo Software Soak Test.

Perhaps only to address the Stagefright vulnerability, but no details yet.

Re: Soak Test Announced

Would be great if they have addressed the volume problems

Re: Soak Test Announced

I'm surprised that hasn't happened already. The newer version comes with it. Shouldn't OG Turbos have gotten it long ago?

OG Turbos? There's only OG Turbos.

Well then that would make him exactly correct

Um. What?

Re: Soak Test Announced

Um. What?

Old school 2014 vs new school 2015 Turbos. The "newer" Lollipop installed version of the phone coming pre-installed.

Re: Soak Test Announced

My friend just recently switched from Apple to his first Android and got a Turbo. I asked him to switch phones with me because I assumed it came on Kit Kat but saw it has 5.1.1. He said it came that way. I assumed it was a "newer" version being a fresh model hence the 5.1.1 vs 5.1.

Re: Soak Test Announced

My sources say it is a very small update, 30ish MB, didn't take long to install at all compared to any other update. The whole thing was done in less than 10 minutes easily. Nothing out of the ordinary noticed, and it is still 5.1 and not 5.1.1, so probably the exploit fix and nothing more.

It's pretty much a "move along, nothing to see here folks" type deal.

I just got a "certified like new" Turbo from Verizon last week to replace my original one that the USB port broke on. The replacement came with 5.1.

Re: Soak Test Announced

Ugh oh..... Made a mistake! Just talked to my buddy and found out that I was wrong. His 2015 Turbo that I thought had 5.1.1 doesn't. And when I say 2015, I just mean a brand new unopened box just purchased within a month. Apparently I had double vision or just wanted to see it on his phone when I looked at it. Or maybe, it was all just a dream. MY BAD!

Must be live - I just got the OTA update. Comments only say "Security Update" so I'm guessing the Stagefright fix.

Re: Soak Test Announced

Is it possible that they fixed the Stagefright video issue but not the more recently discovered Stagefright audio problem (a.k.a. "Stagefright 2.0")?
