Social and Media Hub...any way to delete?

I'm a user, not an avid developer. I don't use these apps and they simply drain my battery running in the background. Any way to delete these and other such apps permanently?

Root and install a custom recovery, then do a nandroid backup. At that point you can try the custom ROMs available for your device (most have the bloat removed) or experiment with manually removing them individually from /system/app.
