So I have a samsung infuse and have been having problems with ANY social app i install (facebook, twitter, Tweetcaster, Friendcaster, Seesmic, Google+) and the app itself retaining the noticifation setting I set.

in other words, If i set... lets say Twitter... to Vibrate and give off a notification sound, it will for a certain period of time.... then i have to go back into the app and reset the notifications. This happens for any social app I install.

I've made sure it doesnt go through the task killer and I have Juice Defender installed and have it set to not touch those apps.... yet I constantly have to reset them.

Also with Tweetcaster and Google+, I can't STAY logged in and everytime I launch the app, I have to reauthorize it (tweetcaster) or enter my email and pw (google+) .

So did I do something wrong? miss a setting? just a bug? anyone else have problems like this and if so how'd ya solve em?

Thanks:)

First off, I'd uninstall any task killers and juice defender. Why? Well, for starters, they use additional resources, which is counterproductive to what you're trying to accomplish ;)

Sure, they were useful at one time a couple years ago, when there wasn't a lot of support forums available. Mostly for people who didn't want to know how to operate their phone.

It's pretty tempting to rush out and install a management app when we first get our phones (battery life sucks when we first buy them), but you'll find after looking and asking a couple questions, it's really pretty easy, and we don't require an app that uses additional resources :D

The lastest Android versions, are pretty good about managing resources for the most part, so they really don't need other apps telling them what to do!

Simple power management knowledge is more than enough, and believe me, there is tons of info available on this site. Mostly, you just need to turn auto updates and synchs off, and espesially any apps that use Wifi to update. These types things can easily be done manually, and the app generally closes out when you exit. Also adjusting notification frequency, also helps. (I don't need my FB checking every 15 min for example) .

And if you're running any optimazation apps (like cache deleters and cleanup apps), I would get rid of them as well. As with losing your settings, clearly, you have something that's probably deleting your User Data caches. This would explain things a little, so you're going to have to remember when the issue started, and what apps you installed along the lines of Phone Utilities.

ANyhow, check the above, and I'll hope it clears up the issue.

If not, give us a shout again.

Oh, forgot to ask, are you rooted and custom rom?
