Social Media Apps very slow?

Sorry for the double post, I posted this in the wrong forum earlier.

I am absolutely loving the switch from iPhone to Galaxy 5s in almost every way except for itunes and my social media apps running painfully slow.

I can deal with the music library and playlists changes but need to find out why things like facebook and instigram are so slow to load pics etc.

The only thing that has changed from my home and work network is my device.
I am really hoping there is a fix because this would be a deal killer for me. I have 10 days left before I have to go back to iphone or keep my new baby for the contract term.

I am not a big social media person, so I am guessing at a different solution here: Does it go any better if you went to say, Facebook on the mobile site?

Actually it does, I was thinking it was the WiFi Settings but the browser seems to work fine.

It is showing the Wi-Fi link speed is 144Mbps.

My Instagram and Twitter work fine. I have always had issues with Facebook. I'm thinking it's the app. I had issues on my HTC and my s3 as well . some days it works fine and sometimes not.

From what I have heard, Facebook has always had various problems with the app on Android. No idea why.
