I'm seriously thinking about getting a OP5.
Never had anything but black before.
Anyone care to chime in your opine regarding a white front? I never had one before.

When I had iPhones all I went for was the white faced ones. I loved how they looked. I would have jumped at the soft gold for OP5 if they'd offered it in the 128GB variant.

One review claimed that the white front actually made the screen harder to see, I think something to do with reflections or something.
Not a comment I have seen expressed in general otherwise, about white fronts on phones.
So not sure how to take that.

The gold version looks superb. You won't be disappointed!

Also, I use a white Honor 8 with a white front and back and really enjoy the experience. Plus, as someone who randomly leaves their phone places and forgets where those places are, the white helps stand out. :)

OnePlus did a great job, having a white front shows off the design and details more. It's a nice change over black.

Waited for the Soft Gold myself, being only 64GB doesn't bother me.

I think it looks horrendous... Absolutely terrible!

But that doesn't matter. I don't think there's any real objective reason to not have a white front beyond using it for VR... It might have a bit of a border around the screen though... Watch Andrew's video.

If you like gold/white then buy it. Our opinions don't really matter.

When you watch movie or if you use Night Mode and the new Reading Mode, then black is always the perfect color as it blends nicely with the display. You will notice the difference with the white front. It's up to you on how well you notice that difference as you might get acquainted with it in a few hours.

You bring up a good point! My Honor 8 is white and I guess I have not noticed a difference in video viewing at night, etc; but that could be because my eyes adjusted lool. Lots of little things can certainly impact or enhance your experience! I totally see what you're saying about the black or darker colours blending in!

Depends on how OC you are I guess. My phones are always black, but I got a white Tab 4 for the past 3 years and when I read on it or watch on it, I'm not bothered at all.

I was in this debate as well. When I was about to purchase my OP5 I noticed they released a soft gold. I debated on it for days...

I eventually went with the slate grey. Reason being is because I would put the phone in a case anyway and it would hide the gold. So what's the point? I was attracted to the gold, more than the white front.

Gold being limited editon might have better resale value, a moot point now for you anyway.
But not really something I would want to rely on, and to be honest unless it was more of a certainty with a good payoff, I would rather focus on what I want to use every day.
And even in an opaque case, the front colour is going to be there during your use.
