After downloading the 1100mb file, I then chose to install later when prompted. Then when I did click on install, I think I got the message that it was about to restart. I turned away, and when I looked back - nothing. Under 'System updates history", it shows that first part, "Software updated to 23.31.24.en.US, but then it shows this info. Yet when I check for system update, it says "your device's software is up to date" How can I get this to download or install?

You'll have to wait till it's re-released. It got pulled again.

Why was it pulled again? Where did it say that? I did the first part this morning and waited till this evening to do the 2nd part and it failed no way to force it to download again.
The Verizon blogs are full of this and yet nothing said about the issue????

Exact... Same... Thing...

Most annoying but I have been happy with the phone as it is so I guess I will just be happy anyway. Perhaps the update was not all it was supposed to be. Either that or the updater is buggy which pretty much amounts to the same thing.

One thing you can do, especially on Verizon based phones is to install the Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant which can be accessed/installed off the phone. Plug the phone into a computer (usually a Windows computer), wait until there is a 'CD Drive (drive letter:) Installer' shows up. Launch the VerizonWirelessUpgradeAssistantSetup.exe . This will allow you to upgrade as needed. But make sure you want to upgrade! You can also do a repair on any phone (if available) in the event that your upgrade did not take.

I had the exact same issue reported here and connecting to a Win 7 machine and running the Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant solved the problem and completely installed 6.0. Appears to be running fine today, the day after the update.

So there is no update anymore? After being annoyed for a few days by the update to the latest version screen that popped up every time I unlocked my phone, I finally decided to do it..it counted down from 10 and then said restarting but nothing happened, went into settings and clicked check for update and it says system is up to date and then under last system update it says "software not updated to 23.31.24.en.US download failed "

I'm new to this so I am lost any help is appreciated

After I install nothing appears in the the Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant window. Yes, I have the USB MTP box checked, but the window is blank.

Oh p00p, my laptop has 4 USB 3's. No 2's.

---- I can't believe this forum didn't let me spell p o o p without replacing the o's with asterisks.

Someone posted on XDA that the update got pulled after speaking with a Verizon rep. I just picked up the phone yesterday and deferred the update. Sighs...

Oh well. It works fine for me as is, but was hoping to play with some of the new toys/features. I guess for now I'll just read up on them.

I'm saying that I downloaded the update, but the install failed. Now my phone says my device's software is up to date.

I did it also on a Mac

Anybody can get it after it failed to install using Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant but only with USB 2.0. For whatever reason it will no detect your phone if you use USB 3.0.

If VZ pulled this, is there a reason we should not be installing the update?

Motorola provides the updates. Maybe something is up with their update servers? If the software update assistant will install the update, then I think Verizon hasn't pulled it, because I believe that those updates are hosted by Verizon and not the OEM. (They tell you that you can update to the new version about a week after it gets sent OTA.)

I am upgrading it right now via the software upgrade assistant ... It all downloaded on my computer and now the green guy is up on my phone and in the upper right there is an icon that says start- do I click it ?
