I recently switched my browser to Dolphin HD because it seems a little faster and I like the UI and tabs more. I set it to default browser in the options. I want to remove the internet app from the app bar and put dolphin there or at least when i hit the internet button dolphin comes up, is there anyway to do this? Right now if I hit the internet the standard internet comes up and it switched to dolphin whenever i leave my homepage but thats a little annoying.

I also recently purchased a 32 gig micro sd card for my music and movies. Is there anyway i can set up a shortcut to this folder to place on my phones desktop?

In order to remove that icon for the factory browser you need an aftermarket launcher. Try ADW Launcher or Launcher Pro. 2 of the best Launchers in the market. A folder just for you Micro SD? Not sure about that. But the My Files folder will take you to the external SD.

Once you install an aftermarket launcher as said above, install a file explorer like astros then you can place a shortcut on any of your homescreen via astro...just tried this using launcher pro and astro.

You mean the little dock at the bottom? Yes you can do this! I don't know why everyone is saying you can't.

  1. From your homescreen, tap the Applications icon in the bottom right.
  2. Tap the menu button.
  3. Select "View Type."
  4. Select "Customizable grid."
  5. Tap the menu button again.
  6. Tap "Edit."
  7. You're now free to drag icons on and off of the bottom dock.

Hope that helps.

Edit: And just to clarify, you can change the view type back to alphabetical grid or list with the icons on the bottom dock staying the same.

Someone has already provided instructions on how to replace the "web" button (which launches default browser) with the icon for Dolphin. Feel free to do that. But if you want to keep the "web" button there and just have it launch your Dolphin browser, you can it do that, too. (I prefer things pretty stock-looking, so this is the route I have gone).

From home screen: Menu --> Options --> Applications --> Web --> Clear defaults (under Launch by default).

Then, go back to homescreen, click "Web" and then it'll give you the option to set your default browser. Click the checkmark to set your default browser (FIRST) and then select/click Dolphin.

Bingo, you've retained your stock "Web" icon, but it will launch Dolphin.

@reefrunway

My biggest problem with that method is that it launches the stock browser before switching to the default browser every time. It makes no functional difference (except that the default browser is then frozen in the background), but it just kind of bothers me.

I don't know about that, actually. I've done the same with my messaging button (to launch GO SMS instead of stock SMS) and I'm almost positive it doesn't launch the stock SMS program in the background.

Interesting. It definitely starts the default browser before launching Dolphin on mine. :/
