Go into recovery mode and wipe the caches. Not factory reset. It will help and correct the issues.

I've had 5.1.1 since October 2015. I just checked and is saying a new update is available but I don't have WiFi to see what the update is.. .

I've been following the update madness of our S6 Active from a distance. But now I received my update notification.
I'm happy with my phone's performance and I will stay away from the download as long as I can.
Am I wrong in that line of thinking?

I believe this update is the security patch for 5.1.. Anyone find a change log?

Wonder if this fixes the battery drain issues

I wiped the cache, and it didn't help, my battery life is still pretty shoddy. I'm going to do a complete reinstall of the OS, see if it helps. If not, Samsung has a warranty. I hope they honor it.

I updated my wife's phone today. It's still 5.1.1. Looking under Settings->System it says something like "Android Security Patch Level 2/1/2016". The Kernel is from 2/18.
