new update just popped up on my unlocked 10 in the US.
says its version 1.96.617.2 (487.74MB).
Notes say its the latest security updated.

September maybe?
just started the download.

All right Androids..Thnx for posting if any issues comes up after
the Update download. Reported to ACentral to discussed..
BTW not much relevant, but named the Carriers and
Phone brands. Greetings from SGs7 😈

After what seems an ice age of optimizing apps, the update has finished. Confirmed its the September security update.

what's the big deal with the security updates? I think I must be the only one who isn't a fan of getting one every month... I mean unless I see some noticeable optimization along with the updates i'm fine with getting one like every 2-3 months at max...

i'm sorry but sitting through all the app optimization is annoying

Peace of mind. I like knowing my phone is as secure as it can be. To me, regular security updates are more important than fast OS updates.

I get that... I honestly do but I see them just like the oxygen mask in airplanes... if the plane crashes those masks really didn't do anything...u get security updates monthly so that means a hacker/bad person has all those days in between to release something...the security updates only protect against already known attacks...

That's my qualm with the security updates... it's like a false sense of security

Or what it means is that the security companies that Google hires to find holes. Finds a hole that has yet to be exploited by any known hacks. They patch them with a monthly update to make sure that it is in fact secure for the everyday user.

Is everyone still enjoying their HTC10? I absolutely love mine. I had to visit AT&T yesterday to a replacement SIM card, the rep was just oohing and ahhing it. Go HTC!!!!!!!!
