Software update

FYI: I'm on a chat with an AT&T rep right now. Seems the issue with ME is that for some reason, the internal AT&T "update database" still has me listed as having my S4, not my S6 ... which is why my phone keeps telling me that no update is available. The rep is correcting that now, and will push the update out to me in just a bit.

(CORRECTION: This issue with my IMEI is effectively resolved, but it may take a couple/few days before I get confirmation on that, and can THEN check for my update)

So, for any of you AT&T people who are showing "no updates available at this time" when you do an OTA check for updates, you MIGHT be having the same problem as me. Would be worth a check using the "live chat" feature on AT&T's website to find out.

UPDATE AGAIN: Talk about good customer service!!! The rep I was live chatting with just called me personally to tell me that he followed the case through, and the database update has been processed, and that as soon as I can get on wifi with a good 4g/4gLTE signal, I should be able to check for the update again and download / install it. He told me that they use the cellular network to ping my phone and confirm the IMEI number prior to allowing the update which is why I have to be somewhere that has a good connection to both wifi and cellular. Unfortunately, my office must be built out of lead, because our cellular signal strength is HORRIBLE in here. Looks like I should be able to get my update this evening at home.

FINAL UPDATE - FOR NOW: Was able to relocate in my office building to a place where I have a good cellular and wifi signal. Tricked the phone using manual time/date function, and was able to download/install the update (YAY!). Just rebooted into recover mode, cleared/wiped the system cache ... and will be monitoring it for a few days to see if I notice any real changes/improvements.
We have been customers since 1994 with AT&T and they have been very good to us. Early upgrades. Great tech support. Excellent customer service. Glad it is working out for you.

Everything seems about the same to me. Curious to see after a few days of full charge and battery life and if the ram piles up. I was starting to have some applications and launcher crashing last week or so. Have had phone since they came out and just started this (crashing things) last week.

Try clearing app cache. If need be, also clear cache partition.

FYI for any/all AT&T Samsung S6 users ... I got this info directly from the AT&T rep that helped me yesterday when dealing with my inability to get the latest update pushed to my phone. This is the "Change Update Log" for the update we all just got:

Software Update Enhancements

Battery performance enhancement
HD Voice enhancement
Screen enhancements
AT&T Message enhancement
Screen rotation enhancement
Power key press time from .5 sec to 1.5 sec.
Other various performance enhancements

Noticing a major decrease in signal strength in my home office. Had solid 4G LTE right up until the update a couple hours ago. Now I can't hold a conversation with the phone where I'm at. I literally have to go upstairs or outside. Major, major downer. I was really getting used to the flawless performance of this, then BAM!, no soup for you! Definitely contacting AT&T on this one.

thanks i called them and it worked .. they were able to send over the update to my phone... the server was thinking i was still on s5 and my software was update. I have an s6 and the server didnt reconfigure that. I am with ATT btw

Exact same thing I went through, though I was previously using an S4. That's why I posted above about this situation, not knowing how many others may be affected by this "server glitch". Glad you got it worked out and got your update.

Glad they go you sorted. AT&T sometimes get a bad rap but they have been good to us over the last 21 years.
